Travel Arrangements

After being accepted into a course, if your plans change in any way, please notify us immediately.

Please make all of your travel plans (to and from) before arriving at the center, as you will not have access to communication devices from the time the course begins until after the course is completed. Students should make proper travel arrangements, allowing sufficient time for travel to and from bus and train stations and airports.

Dhamma Kamala is located east of Prachiburi, south of Khao Yai National Park. The Center is a two-hour drive from Bangkok.

  •     ›› Chartered Bus

    On the day the course begins, a direct chartered bus is provided to the center. The bus departs at 1:00 p.m. from Wat Prasri Mahathat Worawihan (“Wat Pra-sri”), located in Bang Khen District on Phahon Yothin Road, a northern suburb of Bangkok. Please arrive at the temple no later than 12:30 pm. The chartered bus will be parked inside the temple near the exit gate on Phahon Yothin Road.

    Allow one to two hours of travelling time to get to the temple from Khao San road, downtown Bangkok, or from Suvarnabhumi Airport, and about half to one hour from Don Muang Airport. On the return trip, the bus reaches Wat Prasri at about 11:00 am.

    Seats on the chartered bus are limited, please reserve a seat in advance at register.kamala@gmail.com.

    From Bangkok: travel on Phahon Yothin Road (Highway 1). At Rangsit, take Rangsit - Nakhon Nayok Road (Highway 305), which merges into Suwannason Road (Highway 33) at Nakhon Nayok Hospital. Turn right in front of Nakhon Nayok Hospital and turn right again at the next light toward Sa Kaeo. After passing a roundabout at Prachin Buri City, Thai Rath Wittaya 7 School is located at the 166+900 km post on Highway 33. From there, follow the Dhamma Kamala Vipassana Meditation Center sign by turning left. The center is about 500 meters on the left.

    From the Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak) or Mo Chit 2, take a Kabin Buri minibus. The minibus stand is located on Platform 4 of the bus terminal. Look for ticket table number 31. Tell the minibus driver that you are going to Dhamma Kamala. It takes between two and two and a half hours to reach the center. The minibus leaves every 40 minute, starting from 4:00 am. To reach the center in time, it is recommended that you depart Mo Chit 2 Bus Terminal no later than 1:00 pm.

    Let the driver know upfront if you wish to be dropped off right in front of Dhamma Kamala center.

    Minibus fare:
    - 120 Baht for drop-off at the street entrance to the center (then walk 500 meters to the center)
    - 150 Baht for drop-off right in front of the center

    You can also catch the minibus in front of Future Park Rangsit Mall.

    The Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak) or Mo Chit 2 is located on Kamphaeng Phet Road, north of Chatuchak Park. It takes between one and two hours, depending on the traffic, from downtown Bangkok or from Suvarnabhumi Airport to get to Mo Chit 2, and takes half an hour to an hour from Don Muang Airport.

    From the Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak) or Mo Chit 2, take an air-conditioned bus bound for any of these five destinations: Prachantakham, Kabin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Aranyaprathet, or Taa-pra-yaa. The bus ride will take approximately three hours. Let the driver know that you wish to get off en route at Thai Rath Wittaya 7 School in Prachin Buri at the 166+900 km post. This is on Suwannason road, highway number 33. Once you get off, look on the same side of the road for the signage for Dhamma Kamala Vipassana Meditation Center. Turn left into the street where the signage is. The center will be 500 meters down on your left.

    From the Bangkok Hua Lamphong Railway Station, take a train bound for Aranyaprathet or Kabin Buri. Get off at Prachin Buri train station. Take a Tuk Tuk from the station to Dhamma Kamala. The Tuk Tuk fare is 150 Baht and takes between 20-30 minutes to get to the center.

    The recommended trains to take are:

    1. Train number 279 bound for Aranyaprathet. This train departs from Bangkok at 1:05 pm, gets into Prachin Buri station at 3:22 pm.

    2. Train number 281 bound for Kabin Buri. This train departs from Bangkok at 8:00 am, gets into Prachin Buri station at 10:46 am.
