Dhamma Sīmanta means “Area of Dhamma” is one of the many centers around the world, dedicated to the practice of Vipassana Meditation as taught by S.N. Goenka and his assistant teachers in the tradition of Sayagyi U Ba khin, the 6th Vipassana center to be established in this tradition in Thailand. Open for the first 10 days of training courses December 23, 2009. Located on the hill area 49 Rai in the Makok subdistrict, Amphur Pa Sang, Lamphun province, 40 kilometers southwest of the city of Chiang Mai, approximately 650 kilometers north of Bangkok. Surrounded by hills, full of longan plantations andother agricultural products. The atmosphere is quiet and very conducive to practice.



Facilities

Presently, the center is able to accommodate 122 participants. Serving students from all over the world, Dhamma Sīmanta currently offers two 10-day residential courses per month which are open to all, as well as occasional courses for old students (those who have completed a ten-day course.) One day courses for children are also held regularly.

The modern Thai-style architecture consists of facilities such as; large meditation hall, male/female residential quarters (all single rooms with attached bathrooms), male/female dining halls, teachers’ residence, center office, kitchen, mini hall for English discourse and large garden with area for walking and relaxation.
